What is NSA Chiropractic?
Can you imagine how you would feel if all parts of your body were able to communicate with one another in harmony?
Can you imagine experiencing the undesired signs and symptoms that we all encounter in our lives (pain and lethargy) as positive indicators or our health status?
Can you imagine getting that same old episode of back pain and thinking to ourselves “What am I doing to create this situation and how can I make this better?”
NSA Chiropractic is a very gentle technique which involved specific touches along the spine to influence spinal cord tension patterns. By decreasing stress and tension within the nervous system the body is more able to express innate health. It’s relaxing, very enjoyable and enlightening.
We all have stress in our lives, we all have stress in our spines. NSA will help you form permanent strategies of dealing with stress in a much more effective way.
How does NSA work?
NSA is a form of reorganisational healing which means that instead of restoring a situation or a problem, the nervous system evolves. This happens through a phenomenon which is unique to NSA called the Somato-psychic Wave. This is a wave of the vertebrae which effects mind and body.
The aim is to first decrease tension in the nervous system through a series of light touches called adjustments. In the following level of care the adjustments change in order to create the wave. In the later levels of care the wave will be fully established and this is where new healing strategies are created within the nervous system.
Who needs NSA?
NSA care is a healthcare model but it can also be used for symptom relief. Common complaints we see are:
- Low back pain
- Neck pain
- Tennis elbow
- Sciatica
- Shoulder pain
- Headaches
- Depression
- Lacking energy
- Poor sleep patterns
- Irritability
- Low moods
- Poor posture
What can I do for myself?
NSA is about empowering people. Just by receiving basic care we learn more about what we can do for ourselves. In addition to this we take an active role in our healing through exercises performed in our own time. These exercises are called SRI (Somato Respiratory Integration).
Somato Respiratory Integration - SRI
Dr Donald Epstien is the Chiropractor who created and continues to develop NSA. He recognised there were twelve characteristic stages in every healing experience. As a consequence he developed twelve exercises which progresses our healing into the next stage. These exercises focus on the body (somato) and the breath (reparatory) to enhance awareness of ourselves and our life experiences.
This enables us to enjoy more of life, to be more accepting, more relaxed and look at life’s challenges in a whole, different, new light.
How long do I need to see a Chiropractor?
As long as you want. If you get the benefits and continue doing so you may want to have this care for the rest of your life. Though NSA Chiropractic we can learn to be our own doctor, learning to listen to our symptoms and act on them proactively rather than reactively.
What are the facts about NSA Chiropractic?
NSA is evidence-based. There is a wealth of in-depth, relevant clinical and impartial research which supports the effects and resulting benefits of NSA.
